ABOUT HEATHER

Heather McCutcheon, LPC | Therapist specializing in women’s mental health and betrayal trauma.

Hi, I’m Heather—I’m glad you’re here.

I became a therapist here in Katy, Texas because I believe deeply that healing is possible — even when it feels far away. I'm passionate about helping people heal from trauma, navigate difficult relationships, and rediscover who they are after life, loss, or painful experiences have caused them to lose sight of themselves.

Many of the women I work with have spent years caring for everyone else — pouring their energy into their families, relationships, careers, and responsibilities — only to find themselves wondering, "What happened to me?" Others come to therapy carrying the weight of betrayal trauma, grieving the loss of trust, safety, and certainty they once had.

Wherever your story begins, you don't have to figure it out alone. I bring specialized training as an Associate Partner Trauma Therapist (APTT), along with a steady, structured approach to helping you heal, rebuild trust in yourself, and move forward with clarity.

What I love most about this work is watching that shift happen — clients reconnecting with who they really are, stepping into greater purpose, and finding hope again after feeling stuck for so long.

Wherever you are in your journey, I'm here to walk alongside you as you heal and reclaim who you are.

THERAPY FOR WOMEN IN KATY, TEXAS

You may be in the right place if…

I work with women who are carrying pain that is often invisible to the people around them. Whether the wound came from betrayal or from years of quietly disappearing into roles that left no room for you—this work is built for you.

Betrayal Trauma & Infidelity

You've discovered your partner's affair or hidden life and feel like the ground has shifted beneath you. Betrayal trauma is real — and you deserve specialized support to heal."

Anxiety and Stress

You're navigating anxiety, depression, or overwhelm that feels bigger than what's right in front of you — and it's affecting your relationships, your sleep, and your sense of self.

Identity & Self-Worth

You've lost yourself through years of caretaking, people-pleasing, and putting everyone else first. You're ready to reconnect with who you are beneath the roles you play.

People-Pleasing & Relationship Issues

You struggle with boundaries, codependency, or patterns in relationships that leave you feeling drained, unseen, or stuck — and you're ready for something different.

A Structured, Trauma-Informed Approach to Therapy

MY APPROACH

My work in trauma-informed therapy is structured and purposeful. I’m not here to simply help you feel better in the moment—I’m here to help you move forward. I often think of it this way: healing is less about running from the storm, and more about having the courage to walk through it — together. True healing means more than just processing the pain. It means reconnecting with yourself, finding clarity about your experiences and your future, and building a life that genuinely reflects who you are.

Compassionate care— with clear direction.

Calm your nervous system
Before anything else, we help your body feel safe. Trauma — whether from betrayal, chronic stress, or years of self-neglect — lives in the nervous system, and regulation is the foundation of all lasting healing.

01

Gain clarity about your experiences
Making sense of what happened—and what it means—so you can stop spinning in confusion and start moving forward with intention.

02

Break patterns that keep you stuck
Identifying the thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that developed in response to pain—and gently replacing them with ones that actually serve you.

03

Strengthen your sense of identity
Reconnecting with who you are—beneath the hurt, the roles, and the story of what happened to you—so you can move forward as your whole, grounded self.

04

Rebuild trust in yourself
For many women, betrayal or years of self-abandonment fracture trust in their own instincts. We do the slow, important work of rebuilding your confidence in your own judgment.

05

A Little About My Philosophy

You may notice the buffalo artwork in my office.

To me, it represents something important: healing doesn't come from running from the storm. It comes from finding the courage to walk through it.

Every person who walks through my door is facing a storm of some kind. My hope is that our work together helps you move through it with greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust.

Be the Buffalo.
Heal. Rebuild. Thrive.

ENDORSEMENTS

Heather is trusted by fellow therapists and professionals for her work with trauma, betrayal, relationships, and women’s health.

“Few clinicians are the perfect blend of empathy, humor, and skill--Heather McCutcheon is fluent in all three.

It is a rare find to have a therapist who truly sees her therapeutic relationship as the vehicle to bring about change.  With grace and skill, Heather brings clients towards the life they desire to live.

Heather is unmatched in her ability to connect with clients and bring a wealth of professional and personal experience to assist in the desired change and clarity that those in her care are seeking.

Perhaps, one of the best compliments a therapist could receive is knowing other clinicians would refer their own family and friends to her. Heather is one of those rare and precious finds that make other clinician's short list.  She is a trusted professional by other professionals.

Heather is a skilled clinician.  You could sit on her couch with your coffee and leave a session fully satisfied that you gained the insight and direction that moved you forward in such a way that you can't wait to go back for another chat and latte.”

— Dr. Alexis Dunbar, Psychologist, Katy Center for Psychology and Counseling

“I cannot recommend Heather McCutcheon highly enough. She is incredibly kind, empathetic, and compassionate, and from the very first session she creates a space that feels safe and free of judgment.

She truly listens—deeply and attentively—which makes you feel heard and understood. She has exceptional insight, especially in areas like betrayal trauma, codependency, and infidelity. Her approach not only helps you process difficult emotions but also equips you with the tools needed to grow stronger and more confident in your everyday life.

She encourages growth and forward movement, but when setbacks happen, she meets you with patience, care, and understanding rather than pressure or criticism. After working with her, you won’t just feel supported—you will feel stronger, more capable, and more equipped to navigate life.

She is truly a gift to anyone seeking healing and personal growth.”

—Charmel Paholek, Associate Care Director, Grace Fellowship Church

“As a family law attorney, I regularly work with individuals navigating the emotional and legal complexities of separation and divorce. One of the most significant challenges my clients face is not just the legal process, but the emotional impact of betrayal, loss, and uncertainty.

Heather provides a level of support that is both grounded and deeply effective. Her ability to help clients process their experiences, gain clarity, and rebuild a sense of stability is invaluable—especially during times when decisions feel overwhelming.

I have seen firsthand how her work helps individuals move forward with greater confidence, emotional clarity, and a stronger sense of self. I highly recommend her to anyone navigating relationship challenges or life transitions who is seeking thoughtful, structured, and compassionate support.”
