INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS

IFS Therapy in Katy, Texas

Healing the different parts of yourself — with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Evidence-based therapy that helps you understand why you feel and react the way you do — and find lasting peace within yourself.

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF YOU

Have you ever felt like different parts of you want different things?

Maybe one part of you knows a relationship isn't healthy, while another part desperately wants things to work. Perhaps one part feels confident and capable, while another is filled with self-doubt. Or maybe you've wondered why you keep reacting in ways that don't quite make sense to you.

You're not broken. You have parts — and that is completely human.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy approach that helps us understand and heal the different parts of ourselves. These parts developed for a reason — often in response to difficult experiences, relationships, or unmet needs — and IFS helps us approach them with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.

HOW IFS WORKS

We all have parts — and a Self that can lead.

IFS recognizes that our inner world is made up of different parts — each with its own role, perspective, and way of trying to keep us safe. Some of the most common parts include:

🛡️

Protector parts

Parts that work hard to keep you safe — through perfectionism, people-pleasing, or avoiding conflict

💔

Wounded parts

Parts that carry pain, shame, grief, or fear from difficult experiences — often hidden away

⚡

Reactive parts

Parts that respond quickly to perceived threats — showing up as anxiety, anger, or emotional numbness

Your true Self

At your core is your Self — the calm, compassionate, wise part of you that is always present and capable of leading your healing. IFS helps your Self connect with and care for all your other parts.

YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR PAIN

Rather than fighting your parts —
IFS helps you befriend them.

When life becomes overwhelming, protective parts often take over. They may show up as anxiety, self-criticism, perfectionism, people-pleasing, emotional numbness, or difficulty trusting yourself and others.

IFS doesn't ask you to get rid of these parts — it helps you understand what they're protecting and why. As we approach them with curiosity and compassion, they begin to relax their grip. Healing becomes possible not by fighting yourself, but by finally understanding yourself.

"Healing isn't about getting rid of parts of yourself. It's about understanding them, caring for them, and allowing your true Self to lead."

WHAT TO EXPECT

What does IFS therapy look like?

In our sessions together, we'll gently explore the different parts of you and the roles they've taken on throughout your life. There's no pressure to move faster than feels right — IFS is a compassionate, client-led process.

Together we'll help these parts feel understood, release the burdens they've been carrying, and reconnect with your authentic Self. Many clients find that IFS helps them develop:

⏺ Greater self-compassion and understanding

⏺ Increased confidence and self-trust

⏺ Clarity about their experiences and patterns

⏺ Peace with parts of themselves they once fought against
